Children are very important to us. We recognize that these little people will be our culture’s leaders one day, so we must train them to be good ones. We want children to “love the Lord their God with all their heart, soul, strength, and mind,” and “love their neighbors as themselves.” This begins with seeing Jesus as beautiful and his sacrifice on our behalf as essential to our everyday lives.
Our children’s ministry is designed to point children to Jesus. We hold Sunday school throughout the school year and host AWANA and Vacation Bible School (VBS). We also have family and church events that encourage children to get involved in worship and service to both Bethel and the world around them. Come check us out!
At Bethel, we want children to grow in their knowledge of God’s truth and their faith in Him. Sunday School meets during the 9:45am service from September through May, serving children aged two through sixth grade. The classes are led by caring and safe volunteer teachers and helpers who use a biblical curriculum. Children will spend time hearing the Bible read, answering discussion questions, completing interactive lessons and crafts, and playing Bible-inspired games.
AWANA stands for “Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed.” This concept is derived from 2 Timothy 2:15. AWANA is all about Jesus. Its goal is “to reach boys and girls with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and train them to serve Him.” AWANA is for kids age four through sixth grade, and focuses on worship, Bible lessons and scripture memorization. It's also fun for the kids. There is game time, theme nights, special events like a talent night and awards for progress in scripture memorization. For more information, please go here.
Vacation Bible School (VBS)
Vacation Bible School is a fun program that teaches kids about Jesus through exciting videos and speakers, music, interactive games and projects and other activities. This program meets during summer vacation.
