Bethel Baptist Church

Jami Strandberg is originally from Bloomington, Minnesota, but she has a strong Mankato connection.  Jami attended Bethel Baptist for several years in the late 1980's while she was a grad student at MSU.  She was appointed in 2001 as a missionary to Mexico with Converge Worldwide (BGC), and we as a church have supported her financially since then.

Jami lives in Irapuato in central Mexico.  She attends and ministers through Dunamis Baptist Church.  Some of her recent activities include:

    -  teaching at a conference for missionary candidates      -  teaching/doing outreach through Evangelism Explosion kids training (92 people prayed to receive Christ)
     -  hosting a construction team from Sioux Falls, SD, who started building a new sanctuary for Dunamis Baptist
     - leading prayer meetings on Wednesday nights
     - being part of the teaching team for CESI (church planters training); 10 students are learning, praying and seeking to reach a nearby community with the gospel
     - helping with a weekly Bible study
     - meeting regularly with Christian friends for encouragement
     - connecting with non-Christian friends like Sandra, Ricardo, Anita, and Rogelio, and always looking for more opportunities to get to know people and share Christ with them

Jami asks us to pray that God would use her as light and salt for Him in her community. Pray for the salvation of Norma, Rocio,  Ricardo, and others.  Pray for Dunamis Baptist church and all of its ministries--that God would lead and direct their steps and be glorified in all things.
