Bethel Baptist Church

Steve and Nopaluck Cable are missionaries with Converge Worldwide (BGC) who have served in Thailand since 1990.  We, as a church, have supported them financially and with prayer since then.

Steve grew up in Pennsylvania and accepted Christ as his Savior when he was 4 years old.  Nopaluck is a native of Thailand and was raised as a Buddhist.  When they came to the U.S., Nopaluck and her family became Christians, and her father is now a pastor in Thailand.  Nopaluck and Steve met while attending Bethel Seminary.  The Cables have 3 children--Benjamin , Sarah, and Charissa.

The Cables' ministry is focused on reaching the students of Rankamhang University in Bangkok (enrollment there is over 300,000 students).  They provide English classes and computer training at a very reasonable cost at Santisuk English School.  Many American Christians come to Bangkok for 3 weeks or more to teach sessions of English to the students and introduce them to God's love for them.  Students are also invited to various camps during the year, such as sports camps & friendship camps (to practice English and to discuss various topics).  The Cables and their colleagues also work with several churches that have been planted, mainly through the multiplication of small cell groups for Bible Study.

Nopaluck has a special role within the ministry, as she spends much of her time translating materials for use in English classes and Bible studies.  Her translations are being used by many other groups ministering in Thailand as well.
